HW: think of potential debate topics
Today's assignment was to take notes on the video below. Organize notes by pro/con and include information on each speaker's point and purpose, the overall format of the debate, and questions you have about the format or content. Notes should be in comp book and titled/dated. See Mrs. Malowney during advisory or before/after school for help. The sample video we watched and discussed can be found at http://highschooldebate.org/video-sample-debate/ and we will take notes on the exact format of the debate and topic tomorrow in class. We will also begin to brainstorm potential topics and to practice and prepare for our performance assessment debate.

We completed the Socratic Seminar and a Chalk Talk on the ISIS topics we researched. We also completed a body paragraph on the topic. See Google Classroom for details. The remaining assignment was the book talk and the pre-conference form that goes with it.
Today we began researching ISIS for our Socratic Seminar scheduled Wednesday. Students completed items on the checklist to prepare. The article link is contained in the checklist doc as well. Students should complete all the items on the checklist before class tomorrow. All assignment info is also on Google Classroom, which is where students should complete and submit the assignment.
HW: Complete reflection (and rest of checklist) in preparation for the Socratic Seminar. November 12 All classes worked on the quote art assignment for the entire class period Thursday, November 12. The assignment sheet for the quote art is available on Google Classroom. Due date is Monday, November 16. November 13 NOTEBOOKS DUE We read half of the period and spent the second half preparing notebooks to turn in and working on quote art. NB grade slips are attached below.

Today complete activities related to the movie trailer assignment on pages 13-14 in the Collections textbook. We began with Journal 4. Slides from the class presentation are below and the trailer can be accessed by logging into my.hrw and logging in to your student account. The student e-book has the video link on page 13.
